This page illustrates my on going work outside of education and into the professional world of the art, developing my skills and knowledge of how to be a successful independent artist.
LB - Public Art - Guided Bus lane
4th November 2013 - Ongoing
On 4th November, Our college was visited by two members of TFGM (transport for Greater Manchester) who proposed an opportunity for me and my colleagues, to get involved in producing public art for a Guided Bus-way they are currently constructing. The proposal was to produce potential designs and present them to themselves and other members of the board who will chose if they wish to construct them.
I presented my work and was successful, having my ideas commissioned in Tyldesley. However, there were some problems with my work such as their budget combined with it original construct. The design has now been developed into more Land art perspective and still being influenced with my opinions and narrative. I am still attending meeting and will be involved with the construction.
Commission - A3 Painting - Team Batman
December 2014
Doing commissions outside of college, an acquaintance of mine Ciaran Hailwood, requested if i could produce a A3 scale of drawing with the theme of Batman and featuring certain figures by Christmas as a gift for his godson. I excepted but found the task very difficult as the figures were unrealistic in the form they were cartoons and had extreme features from the average figures (over the top muscles, female breasts, etc) I was also not use to the style of art having a large amount of control over the work and paint being limited to expressive techniques.
I found I was successful after showing the work to Ciaran who was delighted with the outcome. He brought the work for £30 and as requested another piece to be done by February.
