Doing commissions outside of college, an acquaintance of mine Ciaran Hailwood, requested if i could produce a A3 scale of drawing with the theme of Batman and featuring certain figures by Christmas as a gift for his godson. I expected but found the task very difficult as the figures were unrealistic in the form they were cartoons and had extreme features from the average figures (over the top muscles, female breasts, etc) I was also not use to the style of art having a large amount of control over the work and paint being limited to expressive techniques.
I found I was successful after showing the work to Ciaran who was delighted with the outcome. He brought the work for £30 and as requested another piece to be done by February.
